Hy everyone.. I am Okeke Nneoma Crystal. I am a full-fledged Nigerian (i said that with a lot of emphasis right? yeah cause thats what it is…a proud Nigerian) and an Igbo girl at that (oya!! IGBO KWENU!!!).. Okay… I am a girl and am 23 years old.. A graduate of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka… studied Archaeology and Tourism.
Growing up wasn’t all a bed of roses..but you know that saying that says “when life throws stones at you..don’t frown or squeeze your face so hard..pick up the stone and build a castle with it”. Anyways.. i have grown up to stronger and independent, goal-oriented and hardworking.. I am better than i was yesterday and would be better than I am tomorrow. Not to forget also, I AM ALSO GOD-FEARING…(an Igbo adage says..okro adighi akari onye koro ya– you know the plant okro right?..yeah it can grow past the person that planted it).. In whatsoever I do, I always put my creator first..(to me, he is all that MATTERS). Anyways, I am a pure lover of arts and crafts (am practically married to it). Ever wondered why arts and cultures are the different but interpretations hold similarities..wondered why cultures are intertwined_(the Englishman didn’t lie when he said “Culture is the way of Life”)
Fast-forward to 2019/2020, got a research scholarship to study at Kenya-Nairobi, enjoy the moment whilst engaging in numerous field trips- explore culture-arts and crafts in its raw, untainted form. So my first trip was to Kilifi county- a small but fascinating town in coastal Kenya (do you want to read about it… watch out for the next episode of keeping up with Crystal (smiles!!!))- rich with numerous crafts, splendid cuisines and a whole whats-not… STAY TUNED PEEPS!!!
